A NEW BEGINNING FOR AN OLD STORY
Founded in 2002, Hiša Torkla has returned to its roots, back in the hands of the local family.
In 2024, a young and passionate team took over, bringing renewed focus, recognition, and exceptional quality.

The open grill on the glass terrace is the beating heart of the restaurant, captivating guests with a wide selection of premium steaks.
Floor-to-ceiling windows frame breathtaking views of the idyllic Slovenian Istrian landscape, creating the sensation of dining outdoors—even off-season.
Inside, a cozy, minimalist Istrian-style space provides the perfect setting for winter dining.
ASADO-STYLE GRILL
Our steaks are cooked to perfection on a custom-made, movable wood-and-charcoal grill inspired by legendary Argentine Asado grills.
This technique adds rich flavors, unique aromas, and distinct textures to every cut. The adjustable-height grate allows precise control over the heat, cooking each cut to perfection.
Minimal seasoning is used during cooking; coarse salt and sauces like chimichurri are added only once the steak is ready to serve.
DRY-AGED PERFECTION
Inside our winter dining area, the centerpiece is our dry ager.
Dry-aging is a carefully controlled process where meat hangs in a regulated environment, allowing natural enzymes to enhance texture and concentrate flavor.
Uniquely, we also dry-age select types of fish—an uncommon practice in this region.
